Perfect Crime DNA testing has opened the door to murderers wishing to commit the perfect crime. DNA testing can now absolve a murderer and provide him with the perfect alibi. If a potential murderer wants to kill his wife for the insurance and the inheritance all he need do is prepare ahead. He'll just go down to the red light district of town and observe a hooker being picked up by a "john." As often happens in these situations sex will occur in the vehicle on a dark street and in this day of AIDS a condom is often used. And the condom is usually discarded out the window immediately after the act. The murderer -to- be then goes over and collects the used condom. He then goes home and kills his wife by whatever method he chooses. When she is dead he simply inserts the used condom inside out into her vagina so that the semen will stay inside her. He then flushes the condom and calls police with a tearful tale of how he came home to find his beloved wife brutally murdered. He, of course, will become the chief suspect because of the money involved. The semen will be found and he will be asked to provide a blood sample for DNA testing and he will readily comply. The DNA testing will show that the semen is not his and so he will be cleared as a suspect. He collects his winnings and goes on with his life. MEANWHILE, some poor snook who picks up hookers is running around with his DNA profile in police computers. At some time in the future this innocent man may become known to the police and his DNA investigated. To his way of thinking he has nothing to worry about, he never killed anyone. But the police have HIS DNA on file as the murderer and HE is the one going to be charged in the crime. DNA tests are very accurate. When he is accused of the crime he will certainly deny it. When asked for his where-abouts on the night in question he is not likely to admit he was out picking up hookers, if he even remembers what he was doing that night. The fact that he did not immediately admit to being with a hooker that night will mark him in the eyes of the law as being evasive. Only guilty people are evasive. He is found guilty, he is imprisoned, and he is executed. But he is innocent! Has this situation already occurred? Do the police and prosecutors care? Prosecutors are only interested in a conviction. It would be damaging to their careers and reputations if it were discovered they made a mistake, so they will do nothing to reopen the case. This is the American way of "justice" and with DNA testing it is getting worse. |
